This is a Antique Japanese Satsuma Moriage porcelain vase table lamp. Satsuma ware is a type of Japanese pottery characterized by its fine, crackled glaze and intricate decoration, often featuring figural scenes, landscapes and geometric patterns. It gained significant popularity in the West during the Meiji period( 1868-1912) when it was widely exported, becoming a symbol of Japanese artistry and craftsmanship. The "Moriage" technique, which involves applying raised enamel designs, is a distinctive feature of many Satsuma pieces, adding a tactile and visually rich dimension to the decoration.
